Samsonite Australia is a proud partner of non-profit reforestation organisation One Tree Planted since November 2021. Being a global leader and the trusted travel luggage brand, this is another step forward in our commitment to become the most sustainable luggage company in the world. As part of our global Sustainable effort, similar reforestation initiatives with One Tree Planted have been adopted by Samsonite globally.

Through this partnership, Samsonite Australia has chosen to contribute to reforestation projects across Australia. This enables us to plant trees in the Australian soil, which supports the restoration of bushfires areas, planting native trees for threatened animal species, supporting a shrinking rainforest ecosystem and increasing wildlife biodiversity.

How Does It Work?

Samsonite plants one tree for every Samsonite Eco Product sold through our websites (www.samsonite.com.au & www.samsonite.co.nz) and Samsonite’s Flagship Store in Brisbane Airport, Australia.

The first project we are supporting through One Tree Planted is the 2022 Byron Shire Wildlife Corridor Restoration project in Goonengerry, New South Wales. This project requires 10,000 trees annually over the span of 5 years and focuses on planting endangered tree species, wildlife biodiversity, climate stability through supporting a shrinking rainforest ecosystem, soil stability and erosion control.

Why Reforestation?

By planting trees in areas that have been degraded or deforested, reforestation helps accelerate the re-establishment of healthy forest structure. This ultimately restores the forest canopy and preserves biodiversity within the ecosystem. Trees also help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere and provide habitat for wildlife.
